Kurten, located in northeast Brazos County is 8 miles east, northeast of Bryan, Texas. We are the third largest city in Brazos County with a population of 398 proud Texans. We are at the cusp of the gateway to the Presidential Corridor, which connects the George H. W. Bush Library located in College Station with the LBJ Library in Austin. The community of Kurten was founded at the end of the Civil War in 1864 and became incorporated in 2000. Kurten in located in the Brazos Valley which is one of the fastest growing areas in Texas.
